Ko Hyun-jung Likes and Unlikes Niece of Shinsegae Chairman's Post, Reflecting on Motherly Love

Actress Ko Hyun-jung is drawing attention after 'liking' and subsequently unliking a social media post featuring Annie (Moon Seo-yoon) from the All Day Project, who is the niece of Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin. This comes 22 years after her divorce ended her ties with the Shinsegae family.

Ko Hyun-jung, who was at the height of her acting career, began dating Chung Yong-jin, the heir of the Shinsegae conglomerate, in 1993. They married two years later, following the end of the SBS drama 'Sandglass,' and Ko Hyun-jung announced her retirement from acting.

She had one son and one daughter with Chairman Chung Yong-jin, but they divorced in November 2003 after 22 years of marriage. Reflecting on her past on the show 'Knee-Drop Guru,' Ko admitted, "I really liked him. If I only thought about the person, it would have been okay to marry again." She also noted that they married quickly in their early twenties, a time for dating, suggesting they were unprepared and that she lacked the capability at the time.

After her return to the entertainment industry, Ko Hyun-jung showcased her enduring acting prowess in dramas such as 'Spring Day,' 'Dear My Friends,' 'Return,' 'Confession Couple,' 'My Neighbor Lawyer, Jo Deul-ho 2: Crime and Punishment,' 'Reflection of You,' and 'Gyeongseong Creature.'

Recently, Ko expressed her longing for her children on the variety show 'You Quiz on the Block.' She stated, "Many people worry because I'm on YouTube and social media, connecting it to my children, but I don't want to burden them. Mom is living vibrantly and diligently, and I want to repay the love I've received from the public." This heartfelt confession revealed her deep maternal affection.

She further shared her sorrow, saying, "A mother should be comfortable. That's a distant wish for me. Because I don't live with them, when I feel a feeling of 'not being close,' I didn't know that not being close could be this sad. It's irreplaceable because it's gone." Following this, Ko shared past photos of herself holding her children, conveying her poignant maternal feelings.

In a recent instance that touched the public with her maternal sentiments, Ko 'liked' a post by Annie from the All Day Project, a campaign featured in 'W Korea.' Annie is the eldest daughter of Chung Yoo-kyung, Shinsegae Group's Vice Chairman, and the niece of Chairman Chung Yong-jin. Ko Hyun-jung, who was once part of the Shinsegae family, showed quiet support by liking Annie's post. However, once the news gained traction, she rescinded the 'like.' Ko Hyun-jung is currently appearing in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Theuckoo: Killer's Outing.'

Ko Hyun-jung made her debut in the entertainment industry in 1989, selected as the second runner-up in the Miss Korea pageant. From the start of her career, she rose to top star status with her innocent image and outstanding acting skills. Despite having career hiatuses due to marriage and divorce, she has consistently continued her acting activities, solidifying her position as a representative actress in South Korea.
