Park Hyung-sik's Agency Denies High Per-Episode Fee Reports: 'Not True'
Actor Park Hyung-sik's agency has officially refuted recent media reports that claimed exorbitant per-episode acting fees for the star.
Rev Entertainment, Park's management company, released a statement on the 17th, clarifying that the reported figures for his drama appearances are inaccurate.
"Regarding the acting fees for actor Park Hyung-sik, which have been exposed through the media, from the initial report of 'Doctor Slump' to the recent 'Twelve,' they are different from the truth," the agency stated. "As these are being presented as established facts contrary to reality, we are releasing an official statement."
Previously, a media outlet reported that Park Hyung-sik received 400 million KRW per episode for his role in the KBS2 drama 'Twelve.' The 8-episode series, which also starred Ma Dong-seok, garnered attention but concluded with a viewership rating of 2.4%, far from its peak of 8.1% in the first episode.
This isn't the first time Park has faced such rumors; his JTBC drama 'Doctor Slump' also saw unconfirmed reports circulating online earlier this year suggesting a fee of 500 million KRW per episode.
Rev Entertainment added, "Actor Park Hyung-sik approaches every project with diligence. We would be grateful if you continue to watch his future activities with warm support." The agency did not disclose the actual remuneration, adhering to the industry's unspoken rule of not revealing specific actor salaries.
Park Hyung-sik began his career as a member of the K-pop group ZE:A before transitioning into acting. He has since established himself as a prominent actor with a diverse filmography. His charismatic presence and fashion sense have earned him a significant following among fans and the general public.
