'Boys Planet' Final 16 Revealed, Lee Sang-won Dominates as Top Trainee Ahead of Debut

The final 16 contestants set to compete on Mnet's 'Boys Planet' have been unveiled, bringing the audience one step closer to the birth of the 2025 rookie group.

With just a week left until the grand finale, 'Boys Planet' has showcased immense global popularity. The 4th global voting round garnered an astounding 32,524,032 votes from 213 countries and regions. Notably, the voting period in the eight days leading up to the finale saw approximately 2.42 million participants, surpassing interest levels from the previous season.

The 10th episode, aired on April 18th, announced the 16 finalists who survived the intense competition. Lee Sang-won, the 'unshakeable No. 1,' secured 8.28 million points, continuing his dominant streak as the sole leader throughout the survival show's history. Jo Woo-shin (2nd) and Lee Ri-o (3rd) also maintained their strong positions, forming the TOP8 alongside Kim Geon-woo (4th), Zhang Jiahao (5th), Xu Xinlong (6th), Kim Jun-seo (7th), and Jeong Sang-hyun (8th), intensifying the debut race.

This episode also revealed the final stage missions. The top 16 will be divided into two teams of eight to perform new songs for their final competition. The 'Brat Attitude' team, featuring a blend of hip-hop and EDM, will showcase their ambition to forge their own paths with members Cheon Kai-won, Park Dong-gyu, Choi Rip-woo, Kim Jun-seo, Zhang Jiahao, Xu Xinlong, Jeong Sang-hyun, and YUMEKIM. The 'Never Been 2 Heaven' team will express the excitement of youth through a funky rhythm and upbeat vocals, with members Jo Woo-shin, Lee Ri-o, Lee Sang-won, Kim Geon-woo, Jeon Yi-jung, Kang Woo-jin, Yoo Kang-min, and Kim Jun-min.

'Boys Planet' will announce the final debut group on April 25th at 8:35 PM KST during a live broadcast with approximately 3,500 star creators.

Lee Sang-won has consistently held the top spot in all four global voting rounds, demonstrating an exceptional level of fan support rarely seen for a trainee. His persistent efforts and charm have successfully captured the hearts of global fans. Projections suggest his debut is virtually guaranteed this season.
