Lee Byung-hun & Son Ye-jin Praise 'Unavoidable' Chemistry as On-Screen Couple

A press preview for the film 'Unavoidable' was held on the 22nd at CGV Yongsan IPark Mall. Director Park Chan-wook, along with lead actors Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yum Hye-ran, attended the event.

'Unavoidable' tells the story of 'Man-su' (Lee Byung-hun), a white-collar worker who, after being suddenly fired, fights to protect his family and home. Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin portray a married couple in the film, showcasing a remarkably realistic and natural on-screen chemistry.

Regarding his collaboration with Son Ye-jin, Lee Byung-hun commented, 'Our chemistry was incredibly seamless. While our existing friendship certainly helped bridge any potential distance, it was truly Son Ye-jin's talent that shone through. Even though it was our first time acting together, I was consistently amazed by how she never missed a beat in capturing the emotional nuances.'

Son Ye-jin reciprocated the praise, stating, 'Portraying a realistic couple requires a natural dynamic, which was only possible thanks to working with a senior actor like him. I was astonished by how effortlessly he performed in front of the camera, without any apparent strain.' She humorously added, 'We played golf a few times, and I remember him putting so much effort into his swing, I thought he might be sore later! We joked that perhaps that’s why his acting felt so relaxed – maybe the secret to his powerful performance is letting go of tension elsewhere.'

Lee Byung-hun is a globally recognized actor, lauded for his versatile roles in critically acclaimed films like 'Inside Men' and 'Masquerade.' He has also made a significant impact in Hollywood, appearing in major productions such as the 'G.I. Joe' franchise and 'Terminator Genisys.'
