Lee Young-ae Surprises with Unexpected Love for Fried Silkworm Pupae and Beer on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'

Veteran actress Lee Young-ae revealed a surprising and delightful side of herself on the JTBC show 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'.

During the 38th episode aired on the 7th, Lee Young-ae appeared alongside actor Kim Young-kwang. The show featured chefs creating dishes using ingredients from Kim Young-kwang's refrigerator. A mystery ingredient emerged: silkworm pupae, which Kim Young-kwang had received as a stamina-boosting recommendation but had left untouched.

Chef Kim Poong decided to transform the silkworm pupae into a beer snack. Despite initial concerns from the cast during the frying and stir-frying process, the final dish proved to be a spectacular success. Lee Young-ae didn't hesitate to try the fried silkworm pupae, exclaiming, "It's so delicious!" She then proceeded to pair it with beer, enjoying it with a refreshing 'one-shot'.

When Ahn Jung-hwan expressed surprise, remarking that he wouldn't have expected her to eat something like silkworm pupae, Lee Young-ae candidly replied, "I remember eating them when I was young, but this is so different, I think I wouldn't have known it was silkworm pupae if you hadn't said anything." She finished her entire portion and continued to drink beer, prompting hosts Kim Sung-joo and Ahn Jung-hwan to joke about her seemingly contradictory 'naturalist' image and her enjoyment of alcoholic beverages.
