The couple reportedly decided to separate amicably, with no specific fault attributed to either party. Shim had tied the knot in December 2018 with a non-celebrity jewelry businesswoman.

Shim is scheduled to return to television on the upcoming JTBC baseball entertainment show 'Strongest Baseball,' which premieres on the 22nd. He is notably a founding member and the first player to be released from the show, marking his comeback to broadcasting after three years.

Shim Soo-chang debuted as a pitcher for the Lotte Giants in 2008. Known for his powerful fastball exceeding 150 km/h, he also holds the record for playing for the most teams among right-handed pitchers.
