Actor Park Jeong-min shared that portraying a visually impaired character in the upcoming film 'The Face' led him to reflect deeply on his own father's life.

During the press preview for 'The Face' held on the afternoon of the 10th at Megabox COEX in Seoul, Park Jeong-min discussed his preparation for the role. The film recently received an invitation to the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, where director Yeon Sang-ho and actors including Park Jeong-min, Kwon Hae-hyo, and Shin Hyun-been participated in a virtual press conference.

'The Face' tells the story of Lim Dong-hwan (played by Park Jeong-min), the son of a renowned visually impaired engraver, Im Yeong-gyu (played by Kwon Hae-hyo/Park Jeong-min). After the discovery of his mother's remains 40 years after her disappearance, he begins to uncover the truth behind her death. The film has already garnered significant attention, having been officially selected for the 'Special Presentations' section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, one of the world's major film festivals.

Park Jeong-min took on the challenging role of both the father in the past and the son in the present, playing a dual character. He explained, "While preparing, I watched videos made by visually impaired individuals and had thoughts." He continued, "Although I've never lived as a visually impaired person, having lived for a long time as a family member of someone visually impaired, there were behavioral patterns that I naturally picked up on. I thought about those aspects."

Previously, Park Jeong-min revealed that his father lost his sight due to an accident, becoming visually impaired. "Through the preparation and filming process, it became an opportunity to reflect on my father's life," he stated. "I didn't choose this film because of that, but it unexpectedly became a gift for me."

Meanwhile, 'The Face' is scheduled to be released on the 11th.

Park Jeong-min debuted in 2011 with the film 'Bleak Night,' quickly gaining recognition.

He consistently engages in theater performances, showcasing a wide range of acting skills.

Recently, he has also been active in various variety shows, broadening his appeal to the general public.
