Broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon has issued a strong warning against individuals impersonating him and defrauding people.

Via his social media on the 12th, Hong revealed that a growing number of scam cases have been reported, involving impersonators leveraging his name and claimed connections to swindle victims out of significant sums of money, reportedly tens of millions of won.

He specifically detailed an incident where a man in his 30s, who had previously approached him claiming to be a fan at a riverside venue and asked for photos, created a fake KakaoTalk profile. This imposter then exploited the supposed friendship to deceive women by asking for money or proposing investment opportunities.

Hong Seok-cheon, a prominent South Korean television personality and businessman, debuted in 1995.

He is widely recognized for his charismatic presence and frequent appearances on various variety shows.

Over his extensive career, he has cultivated a wide network of friendships within the Korean entertainment industry.
