At the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), stars Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo have shed light on their new film, 'Project Y,' emphasizing its core as a survival drama rather than a straightforward action flick.

Directed by Lee Hwan, the film features Han as Miseon and Jeon as Dokyung, two women who team up to steal hidden cash and gold bars in a desperate bid to escape their harsh realities. The movie, which premiered in TIFF's Special Presentations section on September 10, garnered a warm reception from the audience.

While both actresses have prior experience in demanding roles – Han in Netflix's 'My Name' and Jeon in 'Ballerina' – they highlighted that 'Project Y' presented a unique challenge. "It’s not really about action," Han stated. "It’s about two people surviving by any means necessary. The action is prominent because we use our bodies a lot, but at its heart, it’s a story of survival." Jeon echoed this sentiment, noting, "'Project Y' is about two friends. Yes, there's pursuit and physical struggle, but the core is their bond."

Han So-hee gained widespread recognition for her role in the hit drama 'The World of the Married' in 2020.

She further showcased her versatility and acting prowess with a powerful performance in the Netflix series 'My Name.'

Most recently, she captivated audiences with her sweet romantic portrayal in the JTBC drama 'Soundtrack #1.'
