KCM Reveals 12-Year Secret Marriage on 'Love Recorders of Joseon', Cites Debt as Reason
Singer KCM has opened up about his deeply personal life on the TV Chosun variety show 'Love Recorders of Joseon', revealing the reasons behind keeping his marriage and children secret for 12 years.
During a conversation with Kim Byung-man, who is also preparing for remarriage, KCM confessed that overwhelming debt was the primary reason he hid his family. He explained that he feared his family would become entangled in his financial obligations and therefore felt compelled to keep them hidden.
KCM shared tearfully that he only registered his marriage after successfully clearing all his debts. He conveyed his profound love for his family, stating, "I let go of everything then. My wife and eldest daughter advised me not to open up, but I said, 'As long as I have you, I don't care if I lose everything.'"
He further expressed remorse for his past secrecy, admitting that it felt cowardly given that entertainers rely on public support and attention. On the same episode, KCM also showcased his parenting skills by helping Kim Byung-man with his son, acting as a seasoned mentor in child-rearing.
KCM officially registered his marriage in 2021 to his wife, who is nine years his junior and not a public figure. He is the father of two daughters, born in 2012 and 2022 respectively. His candid sharing on the show resonated with viewers, offering insight into his past struggles and deep affection for his family.
