Comedian Kim Ttol-ttol Reveals Past Trauma Over 'Hong Seok-cheon' Nickname

Comedienne Kim Ttol-ttol has revealed her past struggles stemming from being called the nickname 'Hong Seok-cheon'.

Appearing as a guest on the SBS variety show 'Shinbal-eopgo Dolsing-poman' (also known as 'My Little Old Boy') on the 16th, Kim Ttol-ttol shared candid stories.

During the broadcast, fellow cast member Lee Sang-min asked Kim Ttol-ttol if she had been an anti-fan of broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon in the past.

Kim Ttol-ttol clarified, "Rather than an anti-fan, I disliked him." She recalled a specific line from the sitcom 'Three Men, Three Women', stating, "Back then, the bald uncle would say 'I hate you to death,' and it sounded so peculiar."

She further elaborated, "My nickname in school was also Hong Seok-cheon. To me, that name sounded like an insult, and I really hated it." Kim Ttol-ttol then added with a laugh, "But as I lived life, I realized I had become Hong Seok-cheon myself."

Additionally, Kim Ttol-ttol confessed that after realizing her sexual identity in the 4th grade of elementary school, she strived to be a model student to make her parents proud.

She explained, "I intuitively knew I was different from others in elementary school. But since I was already being teased with the nickname Hong Seok-cheon, I studied relentlessly, thinking I had to excel academically."

Kim Ttol-ttol began her career in the early 2000s and is beloved for her witty humor and unique comedic timing. Her honest and bold remarks resonate with many fans, leading to frequent appearances on variety shows. Recently, she has also been connecting with the public through lectures based on her personal experiences.
