Actor Jo Woo-jin Reveals 'Dad's Cooking Project' for Daughter, Making Tteokbokki as a Surprise
Actor Jo Woo-jin has shared his deep affection for his daughter.
On the YouTube channel 'Chef Ahn Sung-jae' on the 17th, Jo Woo-jin appeared to learn how to make 'Bunmoza Tteokbokki' from Chef Ahn Sung-jae.
Jo Woo-jin, who plays a character who loves Chinese cuisine in the upcoming film 'Boss,' set to be released in November, stated, "For this role, I needed to portray a skilled chef, though not necessarily a grand master of Chinese cuisine. I received brief training from renowned chefs Yeo Kyung-rae and Park Eun-young."
When Chef Ahn Sung-jae commented that he wouldn't be clumsy after learning from such professionals, Jo Woo-jin humorously recalled the filming of 'Black and White Chef,' asking, "Did you learn from them after I dropped Chef Yeo Kyung-rae back then?" Ahn Sung-jae replied with a laugh, "I had my eyes covered then."
Jo Woo-jin, referring to himself as a 'goose dad' (a father who works abroad while his family stays in Korea), expressed how much he misses his daughter. He also shared a funny anecdote about how his daughter playfully calls him 'clumsy hands.'
"My daughter teases me, saying 'Mom has golden hands, Dad has clumsy hands.' She even calls me 'ugly,'" he said with a smile. He recently learned that his daughter has started enjoying tteokbokki.
"I was surprised to see my daughter, who has recently begun eating spicy food, enjoying malatang and tteokbokki with her older friends," he shared. "I want to surprise her by making tteokbokki with bunmoza and cheese, made a little less spicy. I want to see her reaction, saying, 'This is really delicious, Dad! Did you know how to make this?'", he revealed his wish.
Jo Woo-jin is set to appear in the film 'Boss,' scheduled for release in November 2023, portraying a character with a passion for Chinese cuisine. To prepare for the role, he underwent brief tutelage from acclaimed Chinese chefs Yeo Kyung-rae and Park Eun-young. Known for often expressing his longing for his daughter as a 'goose dad,' he also shared amusing stories about how she playfully labels him 'clumsy hands.'
