Lee Young-ae Meets Son Seok-hee After 25 Years, Revealing Past Rejection Story

Actress Lee Young-ae appeared on MBC's 'Son Seok-hee's Questions,' sharing a special connection with host Son Seok-hee, who had attempted to cast her 25 years prior.

During the opening, Son Seok-hee introduced Lee Young-ae, mentioning, "I spoke with her only once, for a casting attempt, but I couldn't bring her on board then. It's been a full 25 years until we meet today." He added that he never forgets those he fails to cast.

Recalling the past casting attempt, Lee Young-ae explained, "I think that was when I was busiest day and night." In response, Son Seok-hee humorously recounted the story where Lee Young-ae's mother answered the phone, and Lee Young-ae, still groggy, declined the offer, eliciting laughter.

Surprised, Lee Young-ae apologized, but Son Seok-hee playfully remarked that she decorated the end of her twenties by rejecting his casting offer at the age of 29. This reunion highlighted a unique bond that has spanned 25 years.

Lee Young-ae debuted as a commercial model in 1990, marking the beginning of her entertainment career. She garnered immense popularity both domestically and internationally through dramas like 'Dae Jang Geum' and films such as 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.' Currently, she balances her career with raising her two children.
