Japanese actor Sakaguchi Kentaro made an appearance on the red carpet at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), despite recent personal controversies.

He walked the red carpet at the opening ceremony held at the Busan Cinema Center on the afternoon of the 17th, drawing considerable attention.

Donning a neat suit and tie, Kentaro greeted fans with smiles and waves, showcasing his fan service.

He was initially scheduled to attend the festival to promote his new film, 'Final Piece,' and participate in interviews with domestic and international media.

However, recent reports from a Japanese entertainment publication alleged that Kentaro had been dating and living with a hair and makeup staff member for four years while simultaneously seeing top actress Nagano Mei.

Following the domestic circulation of these allegations, the Busan International Film Festival canceled his scheduled media interviews. A BIFF representative stated that no official interviews had been confirmed from the outset.

Despite the circumstances, Kentaro's presence on the red carpet garnered significant attention from attendees and the public.

Meanwhile, 'Final Piece' is an adaptation of the best-selling 2018 Japanese novel 'Hansai no Sunflower.'

Sakaguchi Kentaro debuted in the 2014 drama 'Steel Lovers,' establishing his presence as an actor. His handsome looks and stable acting skills have garnered him a strong fanbase in Korea. His notable works include the film 'I Want to Eat Your Pancreas' and the drama 'Signal Long-Term Unresolved Case Investigation Unit.'
