Yoo Jung-hoo: 'No Regrets About Acting,' Set to Return with 'Men of the Harem'

Actor Yoo Jung-hoo has expressed his deep satisfaction with his acting career, stating he has no regrets following the recent conclusion of the KBS2 drama ‘My Girlfriend is a Guy.’

In ‘My Girlfriend is a Guy,’ which aired its final episode on the 28th of last month, Yoo Jung-hoo played the role of Kim Ji-hoon, leaving a strong impression on viewers. The drama, based on a popular webtoon, depicts a chaotic romance as the girlfriend, Kim Ji-eun (played by Arin), suddenly transforms into a man, gaining significant popularity both domestically and internationally.

Yoo Jung-hoo took on a bold transformation as Kim Ji-hoon, the ‘biological alter ego’ of Kim Ji-eun. He believes his past experiences portraying diverse characters will serve as a valuable foundation for future roles in more realistic settings. He confidently stated, “Having handled these challenging roles, I feel I will be able to act more comfortably in the future.”

He also expressed his ambition to venture into different genres, mentioning a desire to act in dramas like ‘Adverse Relation.’ "I want to shed the image of being handsome and pretty and show a new side of myself through dark, atmospheric characters," he added.

Before his acting career, Yoo Jung-hoo was a mechanical engineering student. He solidified his dream of becoming an actor during his military service and has since pursued this path. He shared his high job satisfaction, saying, "I have never regretted my decision to act. The process of collaborating and interacting with people fits my personality well."

Following ‘My Girlfriend is a Guy,’ Yoo Jung-hoo is preparing to meet audiences again with his next project, ‘Men of the Harem.’ He reaffirmed his commitment, stating, "I aspire to be an actor who never settles or becomes complacent, but constantly grows over time." He concluded, "My goal is to become a better actor by continuously improving myself, comparing my progress to my past self."
