The Korean entertainment scene is mourning the sudden loss of veteran creator and gaming YouTuber 'Daeddo' (real name NA DONG HYUN), who passed away at the age of 46. His sudden departure has sent shockwaves through the online community.

According to the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul on the 6th, police and fire authorities discovered Daeddo deceased in his home in Gwangjin-gu around 8:40 AM that morning. An acquaintance had reported concerns after Daeddo failed to appear for a scheduled meeting and was unreachable.

Daeddo had been actively participating in public events recently, appearing at the VIP premiere of the movie 'The Exorcist' in February and the '2026 S/S Seoul Fashion Week' just two days prior. His cheerful demeanor at these events makes his sudden passing all the more heartbreaking for fans and the public.

His personal social media is now flooded with messages of disbelief and heartfelt condolences from fans who followed his content for years. His last post on May 14th shared moments from the '#YouTubeFestival,' where he was seen posing energetically, a stark contrast to the somber news that followed. A comment from announcer Han Suk Joon read, 'Truly cool,' to which fans replied with messages like, 'I used to watch your YouTube videos, they were so fun,' and 'I've been a fan for over 10 years, this is so heartbreaking.'

NA DONG HYUN, widely known as 'Daeddo', was a pioneer in the Korean internet broadcasting scene, launching his career in 2010. He significantly influenced the growth of the YouTube ecosystem in Korea and amassed over 1.44 million subscribers. He was previously married to fellow popular YouTuber YUM DENG in 2015, but they divorced by mutual agreement in 2023.
