Jonathan on Sharing a Table with Mukbang Star Tzuyang: 'I Felt Like I Was on a Diet'

Jonathan, set to appear in the new ENA, NXT, and Comedy TV variety show 'Where to Next?' (tentatively translated as 'Don't Know Where It Will Bounce'), shared his experience dining with mukbang sensation Tzuyang.

'Where to Next?' is a relay-style gourmet exploration show where the cast visits highly recommended restaurants chosen solely by their owners, without pre-set lists or courses. The anticipated lineup includes Kim Dae-ho, Ahn Jae-hyun, Tzuyang, and Jonathan. Jonathan expressed his particular fondness for the show's title, stating it perfectly matched his own unpredictable nature and was a key factor in his decision to join.

He was also impressed by the scale of the restaurant recommendations. Jonathan explained that while his personal list consisted of places good for immediate delivery after a meal, 'Where to Next?' feels like an 'away game' visiting eateries scattered across the country, creating an exciting challenge to travel for a taste. Regarding his first encounter with Tzuyang, who boasts 12.4 million subscribers, he remarked, "As soon as Tzuyang unnie arrived, the three of us changed our expressions. A sense of tension rose, like 'the real mukbang is about to begin.'" He humorously added, "I usually eat a lot, but in front of Tzuyang unnie, I felt like someone on a diet. It was like seeing a Messi of mukbang in person," highlighting her unparalleled eating prowess.

Jonathan described the chemistry with fellow cast members Kim Dae-ho, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Tzuyang as naturally divided roles. Kim Dae-ho, a former news anchor, acts as the 'food news' reporter; Ahn Jae-hyun eats the dishes with pictorial flair; Tzuyang eats endlessly; and Jonathan handles reactions and boosting the mood. He noted Kim Dae-ho's position as a true gourmand, meticulously analyzing each meal. Jonathan also named Jang Sung-kyu as a guest he'd like to invite, expressing his enthusiasm for culinary adventures anywhere, even reaching southern and Jeju islands. He promised viewers would see how seriously people can take eating and urged them to anticipate the cast's unique chemistry, suggesting it might be more entertaining than the food itself.
