Ok Joo-hyun's Agency Faces Administrative Error Controversy, Stirring Past Scandals
Musical actress Ok Joo-hyun is once again at the center of controversy due to an administrative error by her agency. TOI Entertainment/(주)Title Role, Ok Joo-hyun's management, admitted to a 'clear oversight' in delaying the registration for a performing arts planning business, while denying any 'intent for illegal operations.'
The agency stated that the administrative lapse occurred during the initial registration process three years ago when the company was founded, and they are currently investigating the cause. They also clarified that claims of being 'unreachable' were due to performance schedules making swift responses difficult, not an attempt to avoid communication.
Separately, Ok Joo-hyun recently spoke on a TV show about the 2022 musical 'Elisabeth' casting controversy, known as the 'Ok-Jangpan' incident, expressing her frustration. At the time, suspicions of favoritism arose due to her being double-cast with a junior colleague, but she explained her actions were to support the junior artist. With past controversies, like the 'Yoo Gwan-sun cosplay' incident, resurfacing alongside the current administrative issue, public reactions remain divided.
Ok Joo-hyun debuted as a member of the girl group Fin.K.L. and gained immense popularity for her exceptional vocal talent. She later transitioned to musical theater, starring in numerous productions such as 'Elisabeth,' 'Rebecca,' and 'Marie Antoinette,' solidifying her status as a leading musical actress in South Korea. She is known for her perfectionist nature, undergoing thorough preparation before each stage performance.
