R&B Sensation JUNNY Selected as Spotify RADAR KOREA Artist, Shares Musical Journey

Multi-talented artist JUNNY has been chosen as a featured artist for Spotify's RADAR KOREA program, offering fans a candid look into his musical philosophy. The unveiling of his content began on the official social media channels of fashion magazine VOGUE on the 8th and continued on Spotify's official social media and YouTube channel on the 9th, capturing the attention of music enthusiasts.

In a joint project between VOGUE Korea and Spotify RADAR KOREA, JUNNY showcased his artistic versatility through a visually stunning photoshoot utilizing dynamic lighting. As an R&B singer-songwriter, he visually translated his unique musical world, proving his diverse charm as an artist.

The main video released via Spotify delves deeper into JUNNY's narrative. Reflecting on his childhood, he shared, "Music was always playing at home, and I was always dancing and singing. In middle school, I saved up my allowance to buy an iPod. I learned how to curate albums by attaching artwork to songs by artists I truly loved and deciding on the track order." This passion led him to express himself through R&B music, starting with the song 'Let Me Love You,' which he performed at a singing contest for his first love.

JUNNY explained that his first full album, 'blanc,' captured the essence of youth, while his latest full album, 'null,' delves into the honest emotions of a mature man. He described the title track 'Energy' as a song that "shows my growth, both musically and as a person." He also highlighted the nearly 8-minute track 'Weight of Time,' stating, "I wanted to perfectly capture only my emotions. I divided it into Acts 1, 2, 3, and 4, making it feel like an album within my album. It was the track that required the most effort and thought."

Expressing his dedication, JUNNY said, "I'm happiest when I'm creating. I'm an artist who enjoys the process of research and creation. Staying true to the essence of music, which allows me to exist as an artist, is who I am. Music is like a friend." He further conveyed his wish, "I hope my music can provide people with positive moments, like a good friend by their side."

Spotify's RADAR program, launched in 2020, supports emerging artists worldwide by expanding their reach to global listeners. JUNNY's selection as a RADAR KOREA artist for his second full album 'null' marks a significant achievement as a male solo artist in Korea. The album 'null,' featuring 12 new tracks he wrote and composed, has been receiving consistent acclaim, topping charts in multiple regions and significantly boosting his listener numbers on Spotify.
