EBS 'Space Empathy' successfully hosted a special concert, 'We Are Pioneers,' celebrating 30 years of Korean indie music. The event, held on Nodeul Island on the 7th, brought together representative artists from the Korean indie scene, including the Kim Chang-wan Band, Lee Nal-chi, and Sanmanhan Siseon.

The Kim Chang-wan Band, with their 48-year legacy since their debut as Sanullim, proved themselves as living history in indie music. Their rendition of 'Your Meaning,' famously covered by IU, deeply moved the audience. Encore performances of 'Let's Ride a Motorcycle with a Train' and 'Rascal' were met with thunderous applause.

Lee Nal-chi, gaining international recognition for their unique sound, showcased the current state of K-culture with performances like 'Saetaryeong' and 'Oryudogam.' Vocalist Jeon Hyo-jeong's captivating voice and fresh, traditional Korean music-infused rhythms enthralled the crowd. Male vocalist Ahn I-ho expressed optimism for the future, stating, "The next 30 years will be even more exciting for indie music."

Sanmanhan Siseon, winners of the Korean Music Awards' 'Rookie of the Year,' presented the future of indie music with their youthful energy. Their song 'Running People,' a collaboration featuring Seolim's harmonica and Song Jae-won's vocals, delivered a poignant emotional impact.

EBS 'Space Empathy' has consistently supported indie music for 20 years, and this concert served as a meaningful occasion, encompassing the past, present, and future of the genre. Producer Hwang Jeong-won reflected, "The three hours spent with over 2,000 attendees, clapping and singing along, was a touching moment to reaffirm the value of indie music."

Kim Chang-wan, a representative South Korean singer-songwriter, debuted with the band Sanullim in 1977 and has been consistently active in music for 48 years.

He has been widely loved for his unique philosophical lyrics and lyrical melodies, and recently regained immense popularity by writing, composing, and singing the OST 'Byeol' for the drama 'My Love from the Star.'

Furthermore, Kim Chang-wan exerts his influence across the broader cultural landscape, actively participating in acting and radio DJing.
