The ongoing exclusive contract dispute between K-pop group NewJeans and their agency ADOR enters its second day of court-ordered mediation today, May 11th. All eyes are on the Seoul Central District Court as both parties reconvene to attempt to bridge the divide.

During the first mediation session, members Minji and Danielle attended, representing NewJeans. While initially expressing a complete breakdown of trust with ADOR, the group recently indicated a willingness to mediate, seeking a return to the agency's state prior to the audit of former CEO Min Hee-jin.

Details from the initial closed-door session remain confidential, and no resolution was publicly announced. If mediation fails again today, the court is expected to deliver its first ruling on October 30th. Under current court orders, NewJeans members face a penalty of 1 billion KRW per person, totaling 5 billion KRW, if they pursue independent activities separate from ADOR.

NewJeans, a five-member girl group debuted in 2022, quickly rose to stardom with their refreshing concept and unique music, earning them the title of 'leading 4th generation K-pop group.' Their blend of exceptional performance skills and captivating visuals has garnered them a massive global fanbase. The group has consistently topped music charts and garnered numerous awards since their debut.
