Actor Kim Nam-gil revealed the touching story behind his decision to appear in his close friend Jo Jjaj's music video without any payment. In a recent YouTube broadcast on Jo Jjaj's channel, Kim Nam-gil shared that the production simply couldn't afford his standard fee.

The bond between Kim Nam-gil and Jo Jjaj was forged through their mutual friend, actor Ju Ji-hoon. Kim Nam-gil explained that they first met at a pub and quickly became close thanks to their shared connection with Ju Ji-hoon. This friendship led to Kim Nam-gil's notable appearance in the music video for Jo Jjaj's song, 'A Cup of Song'.

Jo Jjaj admitted he initially didn't expect Kim Nam-gil to accept, having spent a week agonizing over asking. He recalled Kim Nam-gil responding casually, "I thought you were just asking if I wanted to do it, so I said, 'Let's just do the music video.'"

Further emphasizing his genuine support, Kim Nam-gil humbly stated, "Given Jo Jjaj's usual success with views, I felt if this music video didn't do well, it would be my fault." Jo Jjaj, in turn, praised Kim Nam-gil's acting, describing the experience of seeing him perform live as "heart-pounding" and highlighting a scene as "the gaze scene recognized by hyung (older brother) Ju Ji-hoon."
