Actor Kim Suk-hoon is set to reveal the reasons behind his break from acting, with a special focus on joint health, during an upcoming episode of SBS's 'Three Gaze'.

The program, scheduled to air on September 14th at 8:35 AM, will feature Kim Suk-hoon and So Sul-ji as hosts, alongside experts including docent Lee Chang-yong, science writer Kwak Jae-sik, family medicine specialist Baek Seung-ha, and orthopedic surgeon Lee Nam-gyu, who will collectively delve into the intricacies of bone and joint health.

Kim Suk-hoon shared his past struggles with injuries sustained during filming, leading to significant joint pain and a period of difficulty. He also expressed concern for his wife, who frequently experiences wrist pain post-childbirth, highlighting the importance of the information to be shared on the show. Statistics reveal a stark gender disparity in degenerative arthritis, with 1.4 million male patients and 2.77 million female patients in 2022, underscoring women's increased vulnerability due to smaller joint cartilage volume.

'Three Gaze' will also explore the life of the legendary Michael Jackson. Known for his gravity-defying 45-degree lean dance, Jackson, who debuted at age five, suffered immensely from arthritis in his later years. An examination of his autopsy records indicates that three out of nine findings were related to arthritis, and he consumed more painkillers than average, shedding light on his hidden suffering.

Dr. Baek Seung-ha will discuss the dangers of sedentary lifestyles, emphasizing that even simple squatting poses can be detrimental to joints. Research indicates that such postures can place a load 7.6 times the body weight on the knees, putting many individuals at risk of degenerative arthritis.

Dr. Lee Nam-gyu will further warn against sitting cross-legged, explaining that this position gradually collapses the knee joint's axis. He cautioned that repeated squatting in children can lead to abnormal bone alignment, potentially causing bow legs and degenerative arthritis, noting a concerning rise in patients aged 20-30, with 200,000 currently diagnosed.

The program will also investigate the benefits of chondroitin, a compound gaining attention in the medical field, particularly chondroitin derived from sturgeon, and its positive effects on cartilage and joint health.

Kim Suk-hoon made his acting debut in 1998 with the drama 'Brother's River'.

He has showcased his solid acting skills in numerous popular dramas such as 'Hong Kong Express', 'My Love', and 'Golden Bride'.

Recently, he has been spending personal time and showing interest in various fields outside of his broadcast activities.
