Singer Yoo Seung-jun (Steve Yoo), whose entry into South Korea has been banned for over two decades due to alleged draft evasion, recently shared glimpses of his family life, including his son's swimming competition.

On the 13th, Yoo released a new video on his personal YouTube channel titled 'Introducing My Second Son Rowan (Jian), Who Resembles Yoo Seung-jun | More Mature and Better Than Dad | 100m / 200m Freestyle Race | Dad Who Only Wants to See His Daughters'. The video documented Yoo and his wife cheering for their son at his swimming events.

During the 100m freestyle heats, his son aimed for 53.59 seconds but clocked 54.87 seconds. While he didn't make his target, he improved in the finals, finishing second with a time of 54.44 seconds. The following day's 200m race saw him finish in 1 minute 58.05 seconds, slightly missing his goal of 1 minute 57.79 seconds, though he displayed maturity and reassured his parents.

Yoo Seung-jun, who debuted in 1997 and gained immense popularity, has faced ongoing controversy since leaving South Korea in 2002 under the guise of overseas performances before acquiring U.S. citizenship, thereby evading mandatory military service. Despite winning his third lawsuit for the F-4 visa recently, his return to Korea remains uncertain. Meanwhile, composer Yoon Il-sang recently criticized Yoo Seung-jun's actions, calling his draft evasion a 'betrayal of the country'.

Yoo Seung-jun debuted in 1997 and became one of the top dance singers of the 90s with hits like 'Gawwi' and 'Yeoljeong'. He caused significant controversy in the early 2000s by obtaining U.S. citizenship to avoid mandatory military service. He remains banned from entering South Korea and pursuing entertainment activities there.
