First Birth Broadcast Variety 'My Baby Was Born Again!' Reveals Quadruplet Mom's Real Struggles

TV CHOSUN's new entertainment program, 'My Baby Was Born Again!', will unveil the realistic challenges faced by a mother pregnant with quadruplets in its premiere episode.

Host Park Soo-hong, along with guests Kim Jong-min, Jang Seo-hee, Kim Chan-woo, Sayuri, and Son Min-soo, will meet the first mother to share her story. The episode will particularly focus on the mother who miraculously conceived quadruplets against astronomical odds.

After undergoing difficult procedures like in-vitro fertilization and artificial insemination, the mother was initially pregnant with triplets. However, one of the embryos split, resulting in quadruplets. The couple, expecting their first sets of twins—fraternal twins and identical twins—expressed immense happiness alongside overwhelming financial concerns.

The mother highlighted the significant costs, stating, "The hospital bills alone are four times higher," and revealed the difficulties in obtaining fetal insurance. The necessary prescription of 'aspirin' for mothers carrying multiples, to prevent issues like blood clots, hypertension, and diabetes, paradoxically led to insurance rejections.

'Soon-to-be twin dad' Son Min-soo deeply empathized with these struggles, sharing that he too was rejected by insurance companies for the same reason. He explained, "Mothers of multiples need to take aspirin, but insurance companies deny coverage if it's prescribed."

Furthermore, the situation was compounded by the fact that the birth was scheduled for 28 weeks, indicating a premature delivery. Son Min-soo offered expert advice, saying, "Delivery at 28 weeks is possible, but it's better to wait a little longer for the babies' organs to develop further, especially their lungs."

The tense birth and the practical realities of raising quadruplets will be featured in the premiere episode of 'My Baby Was Born Again!', airing this Saturday at 10 PM.
