Rookie group CORTIS has made Big Hit Music's '6-year hit cycle' a reality, marking a sensational debut.

The five-member group, comprised of Martin, James, Juhoon, Sunghyun, and Gunho, is the latest act launched by Big Hit Music, following the successful trajectories of BTS in 2013 and TXT in 2019, each separated by a six-year interval.

Their debut album, ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’, has achieved the number one spot for initial album sales (Hanteo Chart) among debut albums this year and ranks fourth in K-pop history for debut album first-week sales.

This remarkable growth is particularly noteworthy as the group consists of members without prior audition program experience or prior debut history. Their popularity was further evident with an unprecedented crowd at a fan signing event held recently in Seoul.

CORTIS is generating significant buzz, especially among Gen Z, the primary consumers of K-pop. The group's official TikTok account has amassed approximately 2.7 million followers, underscoring their strong digital presence.

Embracing the identity of a 'Young Creator Crew,' all members actively participate in the creation of their music, choreography, and visuals. They are credited for lyrics, composition, and choreography on their debut album and even co-directed the official music video, showcasing their innovative spirit.

By adopting diverse and experimental genres like 1960s psychedelic rock and boundary-pushing experiment soul, CORTIS has captivated audiences with their unique approach and solid performance skills.

Their impressive vocal abilities and stage presence, demonstrated across music shows, radio, and web content, have significantly boosted their recognition. Tracks like 'GO!', which sparked a dance challenge, 'What You Want,' notable for its treadmill performance, and 'FaSHioN,' hailed as a revival of Big Hit Music's hip-hop legacy, highlight their limitless expression and have firmly established them as Big Hit Music's next big hit.

CORTIS's debut album, 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,' showcases their distinct musical identity and creative vision. As a 'Young Creator Crew,' the members were deeply involved in every aspect of the album's production, from songwriting to choreography. Their experimental approach, incorporating genres like 1960s psychedelic rock into K-pop, sets them apart.
