
Thief Who Stole Millions in Valuables from Comedian Park Na-rae's Home Appeals 2-Year Sentence
The individual who burglarized comedian Park Na-rae's residence, making off with millions of won worth of high-value items, has filed an appeal against the initial two-year prison sentence.
According to legal sources on the 15th, the defendant, identified as Jung (37), submitted his appeal on the 9th to the Seoul Western District Court.
Jung was prosecuted for breaking into Park Na-rae's home in Yongsan-gu in April and stealing valuables estimated to be worth tens of millions of won. He subsequently attempted to sell the stolen goods.
The Seoul Western District Court had previously sentenced Jung to two years in prison for theft and nighttime residential invasion. The presiding judge cited Jung's admission of guilt and return of stolen property, but also noted his prior convictions for similar offenses, the high value of the stolen items, and the victim's plea for strict punishment in their sentencing decision.
Two accomplices, charged with receiving stolen property through professional negligence, were given fines of 2 million and 3 million won respectively.
