Actor Yoon Ji-on Admits to DUI and Unauthorized Motorcycle Use, Apologizes
Actor Yoon Ji-on has directly admitted to charges of drunk driving and unauthorized use of a motorcycle, issuing a public apology.
In a personal social media post on the afternoon of September 17th, Yoon stated, "First, I am heavy-hearted and sorry to be sharing news about such an unpleasant incident." He confessed, "On September 16th, I committed the wrong of taking a parked motorcycle and moving it without permission while heavily intoxicated to the point I cannot recall it."
He continued, "I have since admitted to all charges and am currently assessing the extent of the damages." Yoon expressed his remorse, saying, "I am truly ashamed for causing pain and disappointment to the many people who have supported me through my careless actions." He vowed, "I will live my life in deep repentance with a heightened sense of caution to ensure such an incident never happens again."
"There is no room for excuses," he emphasized, bowing his head once more in apology. "I apologize again with a bowed head. I am truly sorry."
Previously, Yoon Ji-on was removed from the new Channel A drama 'A Baby Has Been Born' after his drunk driving incident was revealed. His exclusive contract with his former agency, Eum Hashtag, was also terminated on July 6th.
The drama 'A Baby Has Been Born,' which began filming in July, had already completed scripts up to episode 6. Yoon had participated in filming as recently as last week and was scheduled to continue this week, but his departure has caused significant inconvenience to the production team.
Yoon Ji-on first gained public recognition in 2019 for his role as Hyo-bong in the JTBC drama 'Be Melodramatic.'
Yoon Ji-on made his public debut in the 2019 JTBC drama 'Be Melodramatic,' portraying the character Hyo-bong. He was cast in this role as a replacement for actor Oh Seung-yoon. Notably, Oh Seung-yoon had previously faced controversy and stepped down from broadcast appearances due to his involvement in a DUI incident concerning his girlfriend, adding a layer of unfortunate irony to Yoon's current situation.
