Sobangcha's Jung Won-kwan Reveals Secrets to Marrying His Wife, 17 Years His Junior

Jung Won-kwan, a member of the iconic K-pop group Sobangcha, has shared the behind-the-scenes story of his marriage to his wife, who is 17 years younger than him, sparking significant interest.

Appearing on the YouTube channel 'Song Seung-hwan's Wonderful Life' on the 19th, Jung Won-kwan candidly discussed everything from his group's early days to his current family life. He detailed the experiences surrounding his marriage to his wife, who is 17 years his junior, elaborating on her persistent efforts to persuade him and his interactions with her father.

Jung Won-kwan mentioned that most of his family resides in Australia. While he often eats alone during holidays, only he, his wife, and his brother's couple remain in Seoul. He further surprised viewers by mentioning the extensive size of his extended family living in Sydney, Australia.

Regarding his first meeting with his wife, he revealed it was through an acquaintance who was a professor. The professor introduced his student, who is now his wife, and they met in the Apgujeong-dong area. Jung Won-kwan admitted to having had feelings for her from the start and humorously shared his old-school tactic of leaving his phone in her bag to create an opportunity to contact her again.

He confessed that despite his wife not knowing much about Sobangcha and facing considerable opposition from those around them due to the age difference, her dedicated persuasion led to their marriage. After marrying and welcoming two daughters, he expressed immense satisfaction with his late-in-life fatherhood. He stated that marriage and childbirth marked a turning point, expressing gratitude for the completely transformed life and mindset he now has.

Jung Won-kwan debuted as the main rapper of the group Sobangcha in 1987, achieving immense popularity. He married his wife, Ms. Kim, who is 17 years his junior, in 2013 and they have two daughters. He is currently active in broadcasting and also runs his own business.
