Coupang Play's variety show 'Shooting Star' Season 2 delivered a thrilling experience to viewers with a nail-biting match featuring legendary players.

The show, which follows retired football legends as they learn and enjoy real football while challenging the K3 League, faced its second round after a disappointing draw in the first. Director Park Ji-sung and the coaching staff rallied the team once more with their ambitious goal of advancing to the K2 League.

Having struggled with the fast pace and stamina required in the K3 League, 'FC Shooting Star' bolstered its roster by selecting six promising youth players in a tryout, signaling a more solid performance for this round. Their opponent was the formidable 'Daejeon Korail FC,' a prominent K3 League team known for its 2018 FA Cup runner-up finish and 2025 Korean Cup Round of 16 appearance.

'Daejeon Korail FC' demonstrated its strength from the start with organized pressing and rapid speed, overwhelming 'FC Shooting Star.' However, 'FC Shooting Star' responded with a spectacular debut goal from Shin Se-gye, igniting the match. 'Daejeon Korail FC' quickly counter-attacked, finishing the first half with a 2-1 lead.

Driven by a stronger desire for victory in the second half, Park Gi-dong scored his first 'Legend League' goal to equalize. Captain Yeom Ki-hun then calmly converted a penalty kick, securing a thrilling lead for the team. Goo Ja-cheol, despite an incomplete recovery from a calf injury, made his debut and created an electrifying atmosphere on the field with a perfect cross to Lee Keun-ho. Despite 'FC Shooting Star's' sharp and clean play, 'Daejeon Korail FC' showed incredible endurance in the final moments, ultimately winning the match 4-3.

The players headed to the locker room with a sense of disappointment despite their strong performance. Coach Choi Yong-soo comforted his players, stating, "I am quite satisfied with the game content we showed today. How you lose is also very important. We truly gave our all." The next match will be an away game against 'Gangneung Citizen Football Club,' and anticipation is high for 'FC Shooting Star' to secure their first win.

'Shooting Star' Season 2 is released every Friday at 8 PM on Coupang Play and is available for free viewing to both Coupang Wow members and general members.
