Actress Kim Sun-young has left a strong and memorable impression despite her special appearance in TV Chosun's weekend mini-series ‘Confidence Man KR’.

Taking on the role of Lee Sun-mi, the chairman of Jae-gyeong Hospital, Kim Sun-young brilliantly portrayed a materialistic character who prioritizes VIPs over patients' lives. Her depiction of controlling her son, Jo Sung-woo (played by Ha-joon), who is known as a 'genius doctor,' and her reign as the 'axis of evil' within the hospital, evoked anger from viewers.

She perfectly embodied a hypocritical character who feigned concern for a patient needing emergency surgery due to a medical accident, yet resorted to verbal abuse and threats against Dr. Im Kwang-sik (played by Kwon Da-ham) who opposed her. Her materialistic nature extended beyond the hospital, as she was seen mistreating a department store manager and showing inferiority complexes towards others, enhancing the drama's immersion.

Notably, after becoming a target of 'Team Confidence Man,' she mistook James (played by Park Hee-soon) for a VVIP patient coordinator and attempted to manipulate him, only to fall into his trap and lose a large sum of money, providing a sense of catharsis. Kim Sun-young proved herself to be an irreplaceable actress by realistically portraying Lee Sun-mi, a character obsessed with money and prestige. Her comedic chemistry with Park Hee-soon also added to the drama's entertainment value.

Kim Sun-young deeply impressed the public with her role as Sun-woo's mother in ‘Reply 1988’. Since then, she has solidified her presence with stable performances in numerous hit dramas such as ‘My Mister’, ‘Crash Landing on You’, and ‘Our Beloved Summer’. She continues to showcase her versatility by playing a wide range of characters across both film and television.
