Zion.T Launches Sound Design Label 'MATE', Aiming to Elevate K-Music Industry with Expertise and Innovation

Creative company Standard Friends, led by artist Zion.T, has officially launched a new sound design label named 'MATE', signaling a fresh wave in the K-music industry.

MATE is comprised of three talented engineers: Jun-woo Park, Jun-hyuk Yoon (HRBstage), and Seon-gyu Kim. They have already proven their skills by participating in the sound design and mixing for Zion.T's EP 'POSER'. Furthermore, they left a strong impression by successfully completing the full mix engineering for SUMIN & Slom's acclaimed regular album 'MINISERIES 2', which won at the 2025 Korean Music Awards.

Beyond these projects, the engineers have garnered solid recognition across the music industry for their extensive collaborations. This includes work on K-pop artist Chae-young of TWICE's first solo full album 'LIL FANTASY vol.1', as well as diverse artists such as IU, QWER, BADVILLAIN, Giriboy, and an entire roster of musicians.

Regarding the launch of MATE, Zion.T stated, "Sound design is the area that demands the most time and effort in the music creation process." He expressed his ambition, "Through MATE, we aim to provide efficient solutions to artists and the industry as a whole, and furthermore, contribute to the development of the Korean music industry."

He further added, "In the age of AI, sound designers who can combine new technologies with existing know-how will become key talents for the future. Through Standard Friends and MATE, we will nurture such talent and advance the creative environment to the next level."

MATE plans to offer cost-effective package services covering everything from vocal tuning and mixing to overall sound directing for both artists and corporations. They also intend to set new standards in the sound design field by developing plugin tools that artists can easily utilize.

Zion.T debuted in 2011 with the single 'Click Me' and has since gained immense popularity for his unique vocal tone and musical style. He has showcased a broad musical spectrum by participating in the production and features of various artists beyond his own music. Additionally, he demonstrates his multifaceted talents by exhibiting his distinct sense in fashion and art.
