Hong Jong-hyun Steps In for 'Baby, It's Okay' Following Co-star's Exit
Actor Hong Jong-hyun is set to join the cast of Channel A's drama 'Baby, It's Okay' (tentative title). This decision comes after actor Yoon Ji-on, who was originally cast in the role, had to leave the production due to a DUI incident.
A representative from Hong Jong-hyun's agency, Secret ENT, confirmed his casting on the 22nd. He will be portraying the character of Lee Min-wook, who becomes entangled in a love triangle with characters played by Oh Yeon-seo and Choi Jin-hyuk.
Yoon Ji-on was reportedly involved in an incident on the 16th where he was caught riding a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol, leading to charges of DUI and motorcycle theft. Consequently, the production team of 'Baby, It's Okay' will re-shoot scenes and remove Yoon Ji-on's existing footage. Hong Jong-hyun's timely addition aims to minimize disruption to the filming schedule.
'Baby, It's Okay' is slated to air in the latter half of next year and is described as a reverse romantic comedy about a man and a woman who unexpectedly become pregnant after a one-night stand, despite having no intentions of marriage.
Hong Jong-hyun made his debut as a fashion model in 2008 before transitioning into acting. He has since appeared in a variety of dramas and films, showcasing his versatile acting skills. This new role is expected to highlight a different facet of his performance, captivating audiences once again.
