Go Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon Reunite After 23 Years in SBS Thriller 'The Scripter'
SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'The Scripter: Killer's Outing' (hereinafter referred to as 'The Scripter') premieres today, May 5th.
The drama is a high-density crime thriller centered around a detective who must unexpectedly team up with the mother of a serial killer, known as 'The Scripter', to solve a series of copycat crimes occurring two decades after her capture.
Anticipation is high for 'The Scripter', not only for its unique premise of a detective son collaborating with his serial killer mother but also for the reunion of veteran actress Go Hyun-jung (playing Jung Yi-shin) and rising star Jang Dong-yoon (playing Cha Soo-yeol). Newly released stills capture the complex and subtle emotions of the mother and son as they meet for the first time in 23 years.
In the images, Jang Dong-yoon appears to be looking somewhere with a mix of anger, anxiety, and fear, while Go Hyun-jung, sitting opposite him, displays a complicated mix of feelings upon seeing her son after so long. The production team commented, "In the first episode airing today, Jung Yi-shin and Cha Soo-yeol will reunite after 23 years. However, it won't be a reunion filled with simple longing or joy, but rather a tense encounter where they can't let go of their suspicions." They added, "This is a crucial scene that both actors immersed themselves in intensely and desperately to portray, so we ask for your keen interest."
Go Hyun-jung debuted in the 1995 drama 'Sandglass', achieving immense popularity. She has since showcased a wide acting range in numerous productions like 'Spring Day', 'Daemul', and 'Dear My Friends'. In 2021, she returned to television with the tvN drama 'You Are My Spring'.
