Lee Hyo-ri Opens Yoga Studio in Yeonhui-dong, Shares Candid Thoughts on 'Picky' Reservations
Singer Lee Hyo-ri has opened up about her experience after launching a yoga studio in Yeonhui-dong, Seoul.
During the 'Monthly Lee Hyo-ri' segment on MBC FM4U's 'A Perfect Day with Lee Sang-soon' broadcast on the 9th, the singer shared her recent updates with her husband, Lee Sang-soon, and revealed the behind-the-scenes story of her yoga studio's opening.
"I've been quite busy for the past month," Lee Hyo-ri remarked with a laugh. "I ran a yoga studio in Jeju for a long time, and it passed by quietly. But opening one in Seoul has brought a completely different kind of response."
She mentioned that classes began last week. "I've taught four sessions up until today. It's been a while, so I don't remember everything clearly and sometimes felt flustered about what to teach," she admitted. "However, the space itself is healing. My home is filled with clutter, but the yoga studio is free of that, making it a time for concentration."
Lee Hyo-ri humorously recounted her early class experiences: "The initial reservations were at a 'ticket-resale' level. It was awkward telling the attendees, who all came to see me, to close their eyes or to leave after the session." She added, "What makes me happiest is when people who came to see Lee Hyo-ri discover the charm of yoga, and it would be even more rewarding if it inspires them to register at local yoga studios."
The conversation also touched upon a listener's question to Lee Sang-soon: "Why do you go to Pilates when you have a yoga teacher at home?" Lee Hyo-ri also chimed in, "I'm curious too." Lee Sang-soon explained, "I tried yoga, but it didn't quite suit me. Pilates fits me better."
Lee Hyo-ri has been consistently practicing yoga for over a decade and previously left a strong impression on the public through her morning yoga routines on variety shows like 'Hyori's Homestay' and 'Camping Club'. The yoga studio's name, 'Ananda', is a yoga alter ego Lee Hyo-ri created in 2020, a word she cherishes so much that she even has it tattooed.
