Disney+'s upcoming original series 'Made in Korea,' starring A-list actors Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, is already generating immense anticipation with the confirmation of a second season even before its initial release.

According to an exclusive report by OSEN, the production team and Disney+ are swiftly moving forward with plans for Season 2, having recently wrapped up filming for the first season.

The series is set in the 1970s and will unfold the gripping tale of Baek Ki-tae (played by Hyun Bin), a man driven by ambition for wealth and power, and Jang Geon-yeong (played by Jung Woo-sung), a prosecutor who stakes everything to stop him, as they confront monumental events spanning the era.

As a spin-off of the 2018 film 'A Violent Prosecutor,' the drama reunites director Woo Min-ho with the production company Hive Media Corp. This marks director Woo's first foray into series directing, adding to the project's high expectations.

Disney+ has also expressed significant confidence in 'Made in Korea,' highlighting it as a key series for the year and a tentpole project for the latter half of 2024 during press events in Singapore and Seoul.

Kim Won-guk, CEO of Hive Media Corp., stated, "With Disney+'s support and Hive's production capabilities, we've created a drama that will be incredibly powerful." He added, "When 'Made in Korea' is released, it will change the landscape for Disney+, our company, and Korean K-dramas."

Disney+ is actively expanding its Korean content offerings, recently launching 'The Bequeathed' and preparing for the historical drama 'The Trunk.' The early greenlighting of 'Made in Korea' for a second season further underscores Disney+'s commitment to the South Korean market.

Hyun Bin rose to stardom with the 2005 drama 'My Name Is Kim Sam-soon' and has since showcased his acting prowess in various genres, including 'Secret Garden,' 'The Negotiation,' and 'The Point Men.' He married actress Son Ye-jin in 2022, receiving widespread congratulations.
