Actor Gong Myung, an ambassador for the international relief and development NGO World Vision, has demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy.

He has donated 50 million KRW to World Vision, funds designated for Chuseok gifts for children in care facilities and for the creation of communal spaces within these institutions. The donation ceremony took place on the 16th at World Vision's headquarters in Seoul, attended by Gong Myung, Chairman Cho Myung-hwan, and other representatives.

The donated funds will be used to provide warm holiday gifts to children in childcare facilities as Chuseok approaches. Additionally, they will support the renovation of rooftop spaces into comfortable resting areas for children who lack sufficient places to relax. Gong Myung plans to personally visit the facility during the Chuseok holiday to participate in volunteer activities with the children.

"I wanted to contribute with the hope that children can have a warm Chuseok and gain a space where they can rest without worry," Gong Myung stated. "I will continue to strive to offer my support to those in need." World Vision Chairman Cho Myung-hwan expressed his gratitude, stating, "We are deeply thankful for Ambassador Gong Myung's consistent attention and support for children requiring assistance domestically and internationally."

Gong Myung's dedication to giving back extends beyond this recent donation. He participated in a campaign to support children affected by war in March 2025 alongside artists from his agency, Saram Entertainment. His volunteer work in Uganda was also featured in the KBS 1TV program 'Love Across the Sea Season 4' in July. As an actor, he has showcased his versatility in dramas like 'A Week Before I Die' and 'The Ritual of the Great Escape', and recently captivated audiences as a mysterious transfer student in the Netflix film 'A Piece of Your Mind'.
