Actress Park Yeon-soo has openly shared her feelings about her daughter Song Jia's decision to pursue golf instead of entertainment, emphasizing her respect for Jia's choice.

In an SNS post on the 18th, Park Yeon-soo revealed, "Although I found dressing up in dozens of outfits for shoots fun, Jia said, ‘Golf is a hundred times easier and more enjoyable.’ That day, I realized my daughter truly loves golf."

She added, "Whenever her golf performance wasn't great, and I received calls from entertainment agencies, I wondered why she was choosing such a difficult path. It took you six years to calm down, despite your energetic personality, and there's still a long way to go, but I acknowledge your love for golf."

Previously, Song Jia had received a lucrative offer from JYP Entertainment but declined, stating, "I don't think I could practice golf." Recalling that time, Park Yeon-soo stressed, "There was the path of entertainment, but what Jia genuinely wanted was golf."

Song Jia first gained recognition in 2013 on MBC's 'Dad! Where Are We Going?' with her father Song Joong-guk, captivating viewers with her 'girl group-level visuals.' Ultimately, she chose the path of golf and recently obtained full membership with the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), marking the beginning of her professional career.

While Park Yeon-soo's remark that "the entertainment industry is an easy path" sparked some controversy among netizens, others interpret it as a mother's tender affection for her daughter who bravely chose a challenging sport over celebrity life. Park Yeon-soo debuted as an actress in 2001 and married Song Joong-guk in 2006, later divorcing in 2015 and raising their two children as a single mother.
