
Internet Pioneer Daeddo-Gwan Passes Away Suddenly, Shocking Colleagues and Fans; Condolences Pour In for Ex-Wife Yum-Deng
The sudden passing of veteran YouTuber Daeddo-Gwan (real name Na Dong-hyun, 43) has sent shockwaves through the online community, with a flood of condolences also directed towards his ex-wife, fellow YouTuber Yum-Deng.
According to the Gwangjin Police Station, Daeddo-Gwan was found deceased at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at approximately 8:40 AM on June 6th. An acquaintance had reported him missing after he failed to appear at a scheduled meeting, leading to the dispatch of emergency services who confirmed his death at the scene.
Daeddo-Gwan and Yum-Deng, both prominent YouTubers, married in 2015. Daeddo-Gwan embraced Yum-Deng's son from a previous marriage, garnering attention for redefining family values. He once shared on a TV program in 2020, "I decided to marry because I felt we could be happy together forever, as she is someone I love and admire."
However, the couple announced their amicable separation by mutual agreement in 2023. At the time, Daeddo-Gwan explained, "We didn't separate due to any negative reasons, but rather decided that remaining friends would be best for both of us."
Despite their divorce, Daeddo-Gwan remained active, recently attending Seoul Fashion Week and speaking at a YouTube festival. His sudden departure has left fans and fellow creators in disbelief.
Supporters have particularly extended their sympathies to Yum-Deng via social media, leaving messages such as "Please don't blame yourself" and "Take care of yourself." The outpouring of support highlights the enduring respect and affection for Daeddo-Gwan and his personal journey.
Daeddo-Gwan, whose real name is Na Dong-hyun, was born in 1981 and was a pioneering figure in the Korean YouTube scene, gaining fame for his engaging game content and witty commentary. He launched his YouTube channel in 2011 and quickly became one of the platform's most beloved creators.
