
‘Our Ballad’ Production Team Reveals ‘Top 100 Voices’ Casting Secrets: Was Cha Tae-hyun an ‘Audition Maniac’?
The production team behind SBS's new audition program, ‘Our Ballad,’ has unveiled the behind-the-scenes stories of casting the ‘Top 100 Voices’ delegation. In an interview held on the 10th, CP Park Sung-hoon and PD Jung Ik-seung shared insights into how they brought together a diverse group of individuals for the judging panel.
The team revealed that many of the chosen representatives initially hesitated, questioning their suitability for the role. However, after explaining the program's vision and their unique roles, most readily accepted.
PD Jung Ik-seung highlighted broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo's reaction, noting his initial surprise at being a 'player' rather than an MC, but his eventual enthusiastic embrace of the 'Top 100 Voices' concept. Actor Cha Tae-hyun was selected not just for his acting career, but for his deep connection to beloved Korean ballads through numerous iconic OSTs, making him a fitting judge to evaluate new voices.
CP Park Sung-hoon described Cha Tae-hyun as an 'audition program fanatic,' expressing confidence in his ability to offer sharp, viewer-centric critiques. He elaborated that Cha Tae-hyun’s insights often go beyond what the production team might expect, acting as a representative voice for the audience.
‘Our Ballad’ is set to premiere on the 23rd at 9 PM.
Cha Tae-hyun debuted in the entertainment industry in 1995 after winning the Grand Prize at the KBS Super Talent Competition.
