MC Lee Gook-joo sparked curiosity about the Grim Reaper's appearance on SBS Life's 'Supernatural Talk Show - Strange Stories'.

During a recent recording of the show, as the topic shifted to 'Reapers,' Lee Gook-joo brought up how this theme has been explored in K-pop, asking if anyone had noticed.

Guest trot singer Seol Ha-yun chimed in by mentioning 'K-pop Demon Hunters,' and the participating shamans confirmed they were aware of such depictions.

Drawing a parallel to the 'Lion Boys' group in a movie, Lee Gook-joo posed a question: "I heard that Grim Reapers intentionally appear with handsome faces so people will follow them, is that true?"

Cheonji Shindang's shaman Jeong Mi-jeong affirmed, "That's correct. If the Grim Reaper only looked scary, who would follow? They can change into comfortable and attractive appearances. The crucial point is that people end up on the path to the afterlife, lured by the Grim Reaper's good looks."

Seol Ha-yun also inquired about the actual appearance of Grim Reapers, contrasting it with the traditional image of a scholar with a hat and robe. Geummundo-sa's shaman Kim Mun-jeong explained, "Historically, Grim Reapers were depicted as stern generals on horseback, like official enforcers of the afterlife. They might wear silk robes or even skirts and jackets. There are also folktales about female Grim Reapers dressed in red."

The 25th episode of 'Strange Stories,' featuring Seol Ha-yun and comedian Jung Ho-cheol as guests, and various shamans sharing eerie tales about 'Reapers,' is set to air on SBS Life on the 16th at 10:10 PM.

Lee Gook-joo debuted as a comedian in 2006 and is beloved for her frank and humorous personality. She gained popularity through her 'Gukjoo Review' content, where she tested and shared honest reviews of various products. Currently, she is actively working as an MC and regular cast member on variety shows, solidifying her position as a versatile entertainer.
