Son Ye-jin Praises Lee Byung-hun's Acting: 'Mastering Effortless Performance on Camera'
Actress Son Ye-jin has expressed profound admiration for fellow actor Lee Byung-hun's acting prowess.
During an Actors House event at the 30th Busan International Film Festival, Son Ye-jin discussed her filmography. She specifically lauded Lee Byung-hun's performance, noting the unique experience of working with him as a co-star.
Despite knowing each other for a long time since her debut in 1999, Son Ye-jin revealed that 'A Man of Reason,' directed by Park Chan-wook, marked their first collaboration as on-screen partners, playing a married couple.
Son Ye-jin shared, "It's incredibly difficult to act naturally in front of the camera. The more you act, the more you feel pressured to deliver lines within a set tone, which often makes the body stiff." She continued, "However, senior Lee Byung-hun always performs as if he's completely relaxed on camera."
She concluded, "Witnessing him effortlessly convey the director's vision and his own expressions while appearing so relaxed makes me believe he is an extraordinary actor," highlighting his exceptional skill.
Son Ye-jin rose to stardom after her debut in the 2001 drama 'Delicious Proposal.' She garnered widespread popularity through numerous hit dramas like 'Summer Scent,' 'A Moment to Remember,' and 'Personal Taste,' as well as successful films across genres including romance, comedy, and action, such as 'The Classic,' 'A Moment to Remember,' 'My Tutor Friend,' and 'The Pirates.' She continues her active acting career following her marriage to Hyun Bin in 2022.
