Trot singer Tae Jin-ah has shared hopeful news about his wife, who has been bravely battling dementia for six years.

Appearing as a guest on TV Chosun's 'The Story of Food: Baekban Trip' (hereinafter referred to as 'Baekban Trip') on the 21st, Tae Jin-ah spoke candidly about his wife's health. When asked by host Huh Young-man about his wife's long-term illness, he expressed his sorrow, stating, "My wife has been suffering from dementia for six years. It's the worst illness in the world."

He recounted a difficult incident where his wife fell and fractured her arm, expressing deep regret. To prevent similar accidents, he revealed that he now ties a string to his wrist and hers when they sleep, so he wakes up if she attempts to get out of bed alone.

However, Tae Jin-ah shared a brighter outlook, saying, "Thanks to the immense support from so many people, her dementia has stopped progressing for about six months. Her mental strength seems to be slowly recovering. I am so grateful. She has improved a lot."

Tae Jin-ah, born Jo Bang-heon, is a renowned South Korean trot singer who debuted in 1972. He is widely recognized for his hit songs such as 'Ok-gyeong-i,' 'Dongbanja,' and 'Jalhaetgun Jalhasseo.' He continues to be an active and beloved figure in the music industry.
