Jeong Il-woo & Jeong In-sun Kick Off Tense Collaboration in 'The Moon That Rises in the Day'
In the latest episode of KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'The Moon That Rises in the Day' (Episode 9), a fragile collaboration began between Lee Ji-hyeok (Jeong Il-woo) and Ji Eun-oh (Jeong In-sun) amidst a somber atmosphere. Ji-hyeok, struggling to revive his business, earnestly appealed to Eun-oh, who had decided to quit her cafe manager job, for her assistance.
Moved by his desperation, Eun-oh agreed to stay by Ji-hyeok's side. He poured all his energy into work, even dozing off while washing his face, which greatly surprised Eun-oh. Meanwhile, Lee Sang-cheol (Cheon Ho-jin) is shown diligently working towards obtaining an electrical technician certificate and juggling a part-time delivery job to fund his business. His mother, Jo Ok-rye (Ban Hyo-jung), also took up a part-time job to support him, only to unexpectedly encounter her former in-law, Kim Jang-soo (Yoon Joo-sang).
Park Seong-jae (Yoon Hyun-min) visited Ji-hyeok's new office in the warehouse, noticing Ji-hyeok's surprise at his growing closeness with Eun-oh. Seong-jae's thoughtful gesture of preparing fruit for Eun-oh's father's ancestral rite further intensified the love triangle and piqued Ji-hyeok's jealousy.
Lee Ji-wan (Son Sang-yeon) expressed his disappointment over Park Young-ran's (Park Jung-yeon) hesitation in addressing him. Young-ran eventually called him 'Oppa,' signifying a shift in their relationship, which pleased Ji-wan and brought them closer. However, Ko Seong-hee (Lee Tae-ran), remarried into a wealthy family, began revealing her ambitions by moving Young-ran to a new fitness center to link her with a third-generation chaebol.
Ji-hyeok offered Eun-oh a substantial 20 million won for their collaboration, emphasizing her crucial role as his first trusted case, not just a simple coordinator. Despite her initial refusal, a crisis involving her brother Ji Kang-oh (Yang Hyuk), who was being chased by loan sharks due to failed stock investments, led Eun-oh to accept Ji-hyeok's offer after he intervened. This set the stage for their intense partnership.
