Veteran YouTuber Daeddoongle Passes Away; Forensics Rules Out Foul Play, Illness Suspected

The Korean entertainment scene is mourning the sudden passing of veteran YouTuber Daeddoongle (real name Na Dong-hyun), aged 46. He was found deceased at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the morning of June 6th.

The National Forensic Service (NFS) has released preliminary findings from an autopsy, stating that there are "no signs of foul play or criminal suspicion." Police are currently investigating the possibility of death due to pre-existing illness, as acquaintances reported Daeddoongle had previously complained of heart-related pain.

Daeddoongle, who boasted over 1.44 million subscribers, was a pioneering figure in the early days of Korean internet broadcasting. His sudden departure has sent shockwaves through the creator community and among his dedicated fanbase, with tributes pouring in from fellow YouTubers and public figures. His funeral rites are scheduled for June 9th.

Na Dong-hyun, known widely as Daeddoongle, was born in 1978 and rose to fame with his YouTube channel 'DaeddoongleTV' starting in 2011. He was celebrated not only for his gaming content but also for his diverse talk shows and review videos, captivating audiences with his signature witty commentary. He married fellow YouTuber Yum Yum in 2015, but the couple divorced amicably in 2023.
