Park Chan-wook's latest film, 'Unavoidable', has achieved a significant win by securing the International People's Choice Award at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Previously honored with an invitation to the competition section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and selected as the opening film for the 30th Busan International Film Festival, 'Unavoidable' has already garnered critical acclaim.

The film tells the compelling story of 'Man-soo' (played by Lee Byung-hun), an ordinary office worker whose life takes an unexpected turn after being laid off. The narrative follows his determined battle to find re-employment, striving to protect his family and their home.

The International People's Choice Award, newly established this year, is voted on by the audience among international films outside of Canada and the United States. 'Unavoidable' becoming the first recipient of this award underscores its broad appeal and resonance with global viewers.

Director Park Chan-wook expressed his gratitude, stating, "I wasn't surprised by the award, as I witnessed the audience's enthusiastic reactions firsthand during the screenings. The Toronto audience was truly the best, and I thank everyone involved." The film is slated for release on the 24th.

Lee Byung-hun portrays the desperate struggles of a breadwinner facing financial hardship with remarkable depth. His versatile acting prowess is expected to shine once again in this role. 'Unavoidable' is set to captivate audiences starting October 24th.
