Lee Dae-ho Shares Heartfelt Gratitude for Grandmother and Memories of Tough Times

Former baseball player Lee Dae-ho expressed his deep gratitude and longing for the grandmother who raised him.

The SBS show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' revealed the heartwarming daily life of the Lee Dae-ho family, capturing viewers' attention. During the broadcast, Lee Dae-ho's close friend Choo Shin-soo made a special appearance, highlighting their strong friendship.

Choo Shin-soo recalled that Lee Dae-ho's packed lunches in the past were always the same, consisting of just a single egg sheet and side dishes. He shared that he felt saddened realizing later that his grandmother had lovingly prepared those simple meals.

Lee Dae-ho's father-in-law showed exceptional affection for his son-in-law, stating that he never misses any broadcast featuring Lee Dae-ho. Lee Dae-ho gifted his father-in-law a necklace he wore during games, reciprocating his constant support.

Furthermore, Lee Dae-ho visited a monk with whom he has had a 20-year relationship, recalling the comfort he received during difficult times. Standing before his late grandmother's memorial tablet, he expressed his profound longing and tearfully confessed his guilt about being happy while she was gone. His son's letter to his grandmother moved the audience. Notably, Choo Shin-soo expressed surprise upon learning Lee Dae-ho's grandmother's name was 'Oh Bun-i,' similar to his own grandmother's name, 'Ee Bun-i.'

Lee Dae-ho began his professional baseball career in 2001 with the Lotte Giants. He later played in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball and Major League Baseball, establishing himself as a representative hitter for Korea. After retiring, he actively communicates with the public through various entertainment programs.
