Kim Da-mi Prepares for Her First Date in 'Hope or Dope' Season 2; 'Guides' Lend a Hand
JTBC's weekend drama 'Hope or Dope' Season 2 (scriptwriters Yang Hee-seung, Kim Bo-ram; director Kim Sang-ho) is captivating viewers as Go Yeong-rye (played by Kim Da-mi) experiences a series of fateful encounters. In the previous episode, three coincidental meetings between Yeong-rye and Han Jae-pil (played by Heo Nam-jun) unfolded, portraying him as a savior in moments of distress.
The upcoming episode on the 20th will delve into the aftermath of a blind date. The released stills show Yeong-rye preparing for a date with the help of her close friends, dubbed the 'Guides'. With nail polish drying on her fingertips after trying the forbidden fuchsia dye, and her best friend Seo Jong-hee (played by Shin Ye-eun) meticulously applying makeup, along with the outfit chosen by the youngest member Im Ho-suk (played by Jeon Bo-min), their small dormitory room is filled with laughter and anticipation.
A preview video suggests that the blind date led to an 'after-party' of sorts. A narrator hints at Jae-pil's strong interest in Yeong-rye, saying, 'That good-looking one. He seems to have taken a liking to you, Yeong-rye unnie.' This raises expectations for Yeong-rye's burgeoning romance, echoing the old saying that true love finds its way before the fuchsia dye on one's nails fades.
However, the preview also introduces a subtle tension. During a boxing event attended by Yeong-rye and Jong-hee, Jong-hee unexpectedly rushes into the ring, shouting, 'Stop! Stop!' Yeong-rye and Jae-pil watch on with concern, leaving the audience curious about this unexpected turn of events.
The production team stated, 'Episode 3 will portray the blossoming feelings among the four youths after the blind date, alongside moments of friendship and first love that shine amidst their challenging lives.' They added, 'However, unexpected variables will intertwine, leading to an even more engaging storyline.' 'Hope or Dope' Season 2 airs tonight at 10:40 PM KST.
