Lee Kyung-kyu and Young-tak to Team Up as MCs for 'The Dog is Excellent'

Veteran entertainer Lee Kyung-kyu and singer Young-tak are set to host KBS2's 'The Dog is Excellent' (hereinafter referred to as 'Dog Excellent') together for the first time.

In line with the 15 million-strong pet owner population in Korea, 'Dog Excellent' is returning with a 'dog academy' concept. The show will feature various trainers competing fiercely, each showcasing their unique training methods on a larger scale. As only one trainer can become the 'homeroom teacher' for a dog with behavioral issues, the strategic mind games and tension among the trainers are expected to provide viewers with fresh excitement and unexpected fun.

Lee Kyung-kyu will serve as the headmaster of the dog academy, leveraging his extensive experience from previous seasons of 'Dog Excellent'. Known as the nation's 'Dog Father', he is anticipated to offer sharp advice to pet owners and accurately pinpoint the root causes of the dogs' problems.

Joining Lee Kyung-kyu as his right-hand man is the all-around entertainer Young-tak, who has excelled in trot music, variety shows, acting, and even production. Young-tak aims to use his characteristic cheerful and bright energy to ease the tension for both owners and their dogs, while also providing candid, constructive criticism to maintain a balanced atmosphere. His confidence in this role reportedly earned him high praise from Lee Kyung-kyu.

Young-tak has further demonstrated his deep affection for 'Dog Excellent' by personally composing the show's theme song. He has also shown a warm side, displaying a keen interest in the various dogs featured on the program and approaching owners and their pets with a friendly demeanor.

The production team of 'Dog Excellent' expressed their admiration, stating, 'From their very first meeting, Lee Kyung-kyu and Young-tak exhibited a chemistry as if they had been working together for a long time, astonishing everyone.' 'The Dog is Excellent' is scheduled to air on October 9th, the last day of the Chuseok holiday, at 8:30 PM.
