Both had pursued brief relationships after leaving the 'Solo Nation' villa, as their choices on the show had differed. Sang-cheol shared, "We each got to know the individuals we chose for about two to four weeks, but we found our personalities and other aspects didn't align, so it didn't lead to a relationship."

He continued, "We were both feeling a bit down, living our lives separately. Then, around early to mid-July, we had a group gathering. I met Jeong-suk there, and we ended up having conversations we couldn't have on the show. That's when our hearts really connected."

Following this reconnection, the couple pursued their relationship with immense passion. Jeong-suk recalled, "After confirming our feelings, we dated very passionately, meeting about four days a week."

Despite the long-distance challenge between Cheongju and Seoul, Sang-cheol was undeterred. He stated, "Even on weekdays, I would finish work, drive up to Seoul, and then wake up at 5 AM to commute back to Cheongju for work," demonstrating his commitment.

When asked about each other's charms, Jeong-suk highlighted Sang-cheol's "manly side and great kindness, which I couldn't fully see on the show," adding, "He does whatever I decide, completely respecting my choices."
